I've been in a reading slump this month! I just wasn't excited about it. I couldn't get into anything. You know, often I think you have to find the right book at the right time for you. Finally, I did. I came home from Alt Summit and there was a stack of books from the library waiting for me. I picked up If I Stay and couldn't put it down. It reminded me of The Lovely Bones. If you liked that one, you'll probably like If I Stay too. I read these two books within three days. Can't we talk about something more pleasant? is an illustrated memoir about the author's aging parents. It's sad, funny in parts, but mostly depressing. I still liked it. It was honest and real. Oh and I never thought I'd be reading graphic novel kind of books but there's some really good ones out there.
So here's the rest of the stack that was waiting for me. Essentialism was recommended by my friend Christine of Procrastination Coach. I can't remember where I ran across Lizzy & Jane. There's a few more I'm anxiously waiting for from my library like The Rosie Effect and Big little lies.
What book are you reading? Last year, I often read a non-fiction and fiction book at the same time. Do you read more than one at once? Please tell me you don't flip to the back and read the ending like someone I know!
