Caroline followed that up with her own advice:
She so beautifully put into words what I think my intentions were when I chose my one little word this year, BELIEVE.
On Wednesday I struggled to make a painting. I brought all my materials. I had plenty of time at the airport. I had no excuses. FEAR stopped me. The idea that others were watching (and maybe judging) me, even though I'm sure they were much more interested in their phones.
My work and this process has value. I BELIEVE in it. Today I painted in spite of the fear. I tried to stop shrinking and let my light shine. And if all those eyes are watching me, why not paint them?
