It's a special holiday Fursday today and I'm feeling very thankful....thankful for both Rescue One and Haven of the Ozarks, thankful for all the wonderful volunteers of both organizations, thankful that because of them hundreds of dogs (and cats) have a safe place tonight, food to eat, fresh water to drink, and most importantly feel loved.
I'm also thankful for this Fursday project (and thankful for my husband Thad who thought of it!) It's been a fantastic experience. Today's painting is number 47 out of 50. I am both happy and sad to see the finish line. These dogs have become my fur babies. I can tell you each one by name and story. I love to check in, see if they've been adopted, and how they're doing.
This Fursday, meet Penelope. She's a 2 year old, beautiful Catahoula mix. In her foster home with Rescue One, she has already learned commands like "sit" and "no" and is working on "stay" and "come." Her foster mama says she's a little clumsy but loves to play. Maybe she could stumble her way into your home? Just head over to Rescue One and arrange to meet her.
