The last few years I've made it a point to not diet but to eat real food. This year my goal was to learn to cook foods that I would order in a restaurant (hot wings, tomato soup!) or foods that I thought would be too difficult for me (a whole chicken, pie or bread from scratch). I'm calling this goal a success already. The list of foods that I learned to cook isn't that long but I feel like I really mastered each one. Most I can now cook from memory. This was my first soup of this season but one I got pretty comfortable with last winter. Hooray for homemade soup!
