Lately I keep running across the same/similar idea from different sources and each time it makes me think the universe must really be trying to get my attention. For example yesterday's post, I listened to that podcast about the thriving artist's mindset while I'm also reading the book Mindset with my son. Today it happened to me again. I came across this on Pinterest
... every creative project has a "U" shape. (He called it the "painting curve", but it's equally applicable to any creative endeavor.) You begin the project with great enthusiasm, and as you engage in the work your natural energy for the project begins to fade. Things that once seemed so simple are now more complex. What appeared clearly in your mind is no longer so simple. This is when many people give up.
However, if you stick with the project through the tough part, your passion begins to swell again, patterns again form, and your energy level returns, perhaps even in greater measure. When this happens, the resulting work is far better than seemed possible in the valley of despair.
So true. I'm currently at the bottom of the U/the 'this is shit' stage with many of my projects. It's time to power through the difficulty.
