Friday evening was the opening and reception for the Springfield Regional Arts Council third annual member invitational exhibit Caught My Eye. I was pretty excited to be one of the six artists selected for the show. I was talking with the director of the council about her upcoming solo show and she mentioned that she HAS to do an annual show, otherwise the painting doesn't get done. It reminded me that deadlines get things done and while I'm a big introvert, it's things like these that force me to first finish and then actually put my work out there, for real beyond the virtual world.
It was a great experience and really fun to watch people interact with my work. The black and white piece on the right seemed to be the favorite. People spent the most time in front of that one, looking at all the creatures. I just want to say a big thank you to all those that sent me kind words and congratulations about the show. You are awesome!
