Well, the reading frenzy ended this month. I read just four books. Still I'm pretty happy to be halfway to my goal of fifty books for the year and it's only 1/3 of the way through. I read:
#23 The Woman in Cabin 10
#24 Runaway Girl: The Artist Louise Bourgeois
#25 Broad Strokes: 15 Women Who Made Art and Made History (In that Order)
I had heard a lot about The Woman in Cabin 10. It's a mystery/suspense kind of book. It was ok, not high on my list of fiction reads this year.
Runaway Girl was really good. It's designed like a school textbook but it's really interesting and a pretty easy read. If you're looking for a good overview of Louise, I'd recommend it.
Broad Strokes was our year of creative habits book club last month. I was so pleasantly surprised with this book. Loved it. It's art history but it's really informal; reads more like blog posts.
I've been trying to finish Upstream by Mary Oliver for awhile now. I love her poetry and I loved parts of this book but I struggled in some parts. I think essays just aren't my thing.
I've several of books lined up for May so we'll see if I get back on track or if the warmer weather keeps me from it. :)
