Recently I saw this post on how getting a six pack changes your life and how it doesn't. I saw it on Facebook. I saw it on Twitter. I finally clicked on it and read it. Then I got to thinking....
How do creative habits change your life and how don't they?
Creative habits will not make you a successful, working artist.
No, that's going to take a whole lot more. I'll take hard work, promotion, business skills, etc. The creative habit itself will not do it for you. You won't be able to support yourself or your family simply with creative habits.
Creative habits will make you an artist.
An artist is a person who creates art. You will be doing that every day. You will finally feel comfortable calling yourself an artist.
Creative habits won't make you popular.
You aren't going to become an internet sensation or instagram hit with a creative habit. That one person who did a 365 project and now they're famous? They are a one-hit wonder until they follow it up with their next big thing.
Creative habits will help you grow an audience.
You will gain followers. People will be interested in your work ethic, your consistency, and your growth. You'll feel accountable to those people and it will help you continue with your creative habits.
Perhaps the biggest thing creative habits will do for you?
You'll gain momentum. You'll discover how to accomplish big goals with daily work. It'll spur other projects. You'll gain confidence in your abilities. You'll find that you can improve at anything you set your mind to do.
Creative habits will change your mindset.
And with a growth mindset, you can do anything. That's what creative habits will do. What about you? How have creative habits changed your life? And how didn't they?
