You guys know how important it is to set your goals/habits, schedule it out, plan and prepare for it, etc. Afterwards it's just as important to share you work and evaluate your system. How's the plan working for you? What needs to change?
So today I'm checking in. In March I planned to work "in the studio" every weekday and I also began a couch to 5K program which is running every other day. At the beginning of the month I printed out a calendar (I used this one) to track my progress. My plan was to set up a system that was a cross between 'don't break the chain' and a kid's reward chart.
I forgot to fill in the dates so you might not notice that I didn't get started on anything until March 5. Once I started, I did pretty well. I missed one day of studio time due to hiking.
I didn't set any rewards for myself yet. I've already missed one studio day and I think the artwork accomplished will be reward enough. If I make it the rest of the month running every other day, I think I'll reward myself with some new workout clothes to wear throughout April.
My system seems to be working pretty well as long as 1) I'm home in the afternoon when I've scheduled these activities and 2) I'm not sick. There's not much I can do about getting sick but I could work to make things more portable so that I could stick with it when I'm not at home.
