In just two short weeks I'll be exhibiting at the Hip Handmade Market in Joplin MO. This will be my second time there and so I know a little bit more about what it's like this time. I thought I'd share a little preview of who will be there and how it works.
First thing, the Hip Handmade Market is a curated indie-craft market. The event is juried from a number of applications to offer a wide variety of quality, local handmade goods. They'll be paper goods, soaps, jewelry, pottery, clothing, vintage finds, accessories, knits, photography, painting & more. Aside from the shopping, they'll be music and giveaways and it's all in a pretty relaxed, fun atmosphere.
It's held at The Roxy + The Amelie Event Centers at 102 + 104 South Joplin Avenue in Downtown Joplin, Missouri. This time they'll have a happy hour/cocktail party on Friday November 13th for advance ticket holders. These lucky ducks will get first crack at all the merchandise plus an appetizer, drink, and dessert. Tickets for this special event are on sale here through October 30th.
Then the main event is Saturday November 14th from 10am to 4pm. It'll be great to see old friends there. I'll be hitting up Brittany and Summer of Culture Flock Clothing of course. I already have four!! of their shirts so this time I want to check out their sloth beanie and the introvert enamel pin. The pin just so happens to be designed by another friend Kendra of Kwanalee who will be there. I can't wait to see what new stuff she'll have like maybe this Groot plus all my old favorites like her Harry Potter prints.
Last time I didn't really get to check out all the other booths, especially the ones that were in the other room. This time I've done my research and if I'm short on time these are my "must" sees.
I'm also excited to check out Chelsea of Sseachell's booth. I really like her graphic style. And then last on my list of "must" see is Red Road Woodworks. They make these gorgeous wooden spoons and I think I might need one of those for lunch photos. I'm shocked but they don't have an instagram account!! so here's a photo of their work by someone else.
Is dad a foodie? Here's the perfect gift! Wood serving board, crafted by hand in Wheaton, Il (by Kathy's husband!), a set of gorgeous #RedRoadWoodworks spoons, carved in the Ozarks from sustainably harvested timber, and a jar of #ChefIvo's amazing BBQ sauce. Sure winner! (Shown on a beautifully hand-stitched #kantha blanket) #IGtakeover @kallisonphoto #kellyallisonphotography
There are so many more but that's my short list. Here's a list of all the vendors that'll be there. Booth preparations and obsessive list making are both underway. Can't wait!
