This Fursday's dog is no surprise really. You see, over the weekend I fell in love with a Basset Hound named Lulu. Now I would venture to say that us "dog people" have "dog types." I'm partial to medium to large sized, short haired dogs but just like with people, personality makes a big difference.
For instance my in law's have a beagle mix named Harry. I don't usually like beagles but I adore Harry. He has the best personality and is just an all-round fantastic dog. Before this weekend, I would have said that I didn't like Basset Hounds. That is until I met Lulu. She was totally laid back and a big sweetie. I gave her one pat and she laid down in the grass and gave me her belly to scratch. So my point? Well you just never know which dog you'll fall in love with.
This week I was looking through the Haven's dogs and ran across Mona Lisa. Before I blabber on about Mona, I should say that the Haven has gotten SO MANY new dogs in the last two weeks! Today there are 161 dogs and cats available for adoption at Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary. That's incredible! They have some of the cutest puppies like Jackpot, Frankie and Anubis. You really must just go and visit because you just never know which one you'll fancy in person.
Ok I'll get on with it. This Fursday, meet Mona Lisa. I think she has this posing thing down.
Mona Lisa is a Basset Hound & Labrador Retriever Mix. She's come a long way from her old life living in a crowded, dirty house with lots of other dogs where they didn't get to go outside much. At the Haven, she's learning her manners. She likes other dogs, cats, and kids. She's a social girl and really just wants to be around people.
Those beautiful brown eyes are just begging for a cozy home. Is it yours? You'll never know for sure until you meet her. Mona is someone's muse, we just gotta find that someone!
