Hello November 1st!
Today I made the day of the dead drawing above as my final inktober drawing. I only made it to 13 drawings this year but that's ok. Thirteen feels like a good number. Inktober drawings 11 and 12 are these skull + silhouette combos. The rest of my inktober drawings are here and here. It was good for me to keep to a theme but I'm definitely ready to move on.
For Halloween, I continued my tradition of dressing up as an artist. [Previously I was Bob Ross and Andy Warhol.] It was fun. So many kids asked me who I was (I'm dressed as Salvador Dali) and I really hope in some small way, at least for my own kids, I'm teaching them a little about art history in a fun, memorable way.
The challenge (and encouragement from a friend) led me to take my can design a step further and make prints and a postcard. I'm really happy with how those turned out and they'll be great to have in my booth this holiday season.
And now on to November! New posts are up at ayearofcreativehabits.com. This Friday I'll be at the Creamery for Springfield Regional Arts Council's Caught My Eye Exhibition. I was one of nine artists selected which is exciting and this is my second Caught My Eye show so that's pretty cool too. If you're near Springfield, I hope you'll stop by Friday evening. I'll have five paintings and three collages on display (and for sale!)
