I read five books in the first three weeks of December and somehow haven't read a single thing on vacation! There are the five I did read this month:
50 - But You Did Not Come Back by Marceline Loridan-Ivens
51 - Felicity by Mary Oliver
52 - On Living by Kerry Egan
53 - Show Your Work by Austin Kleon
54 - The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron
And then of the 54 books I read this year, these were my 10 favorites:
And I'd say if you only read one of these books, I'd have to recommend When Breath Becomes Air. It was my favorite book this year. I'm wanting to read it again already.
At the beginning of 2016 I thought about not making a goal of fifty books for the year. That idea lasted just a few months. I really enjoy keeping track of what I read and having that goal to push me to read just a little more each month. Over the last few years it's helped me recognize what kinds of books I like best and then that leads me to even more books that I like. I'll definitely keep going with my book reports in 2017 and I think I'll keep with the goal of 50.
What was the best book you read in 2016? I'm always looking for suggestions. Eight of the ten favorites above were suggested to me by someone!
