One of the things that I find most interesting about this idea is that "stuff worth stealing" is different for each of us. You may steal something that I didn't think was worth stealing. And then you turn around and do something with it that I then think IS worth stealing!
Anyway I stole this photo idea from Andy Warhol. I don't think he'd mind. He didn't get too upset with Elaine Sturtevant.
I've done Andy inspired polaroids before... I think they are pretty fun. [These are from 2015.]
This time after the polaroids, I set up my good camera with the self timer. There's a faint white haze at the bottom of the photo on the left (and the one at the top of this post). I needed a little bit more height to get the camera at eye level so put it on an upside-down trash can. The camera was sitting a little too far back and so that effect is just a little bit of the edge of a white trash can in the foreground. I really like sort of hazy effect that happened accidentally––totally a look that you'd get with a polaroid. Happy accident for sure!
Then I added the polaroid frame digitally.
