This week was about playing with watercolor. I got my new palette set up and am learning about the ten colors that I chose to put in there. I'm mixing 'em up and testing out new combos. It's certainly a learning process as I seem to have forgotten all about how to paint with watercolor. There's something very playful yet intimidating about watercolor.
The artist Emily Proud has a watercolor 101 series on her blog that I've found helpful. Also I'm looking through the book Water Paper Paint: Exploring Creativity with Watercolor and Mixed Media by Heather Smith Jones. I love the glimpses into her sketchbook that you can find on her blog. There's tons of inspiration online but I'm finding that I prefer to have a few books near instead of the computer. Do you have any favorite books that inspire your art? Please share with me!
