This Fursday meet Pittunia! She was found near Springfield this past January. Here's the thing about her...if the person who found her had taken her to the Springfield pound and her owner didn't come forward to claim her then she would have been euthanized. You know I'm not a fan of that word, she would have been killed...killed because she is considered a pit bull. Thank goodness that's not what happened to Pittunia.
Instead the woman who found her took her in and shared her photo on social media. Haven of the Ozarks stepped up. They took care of her tummy rash and had her bad eye checked out. Now she's ready for her forever home.
The woman who found Pittunia says she loves people, dogs and spent the day at a busy farm with goats, geese, chickens and cattle. The Haven calls her a total love bug. Thankfully the right people found Pittunia. She's going to make a great addition to someone's family.
Just this week, I am happy to report that finally Springfield is taking steps to change their ways. Now (for a trial period) instead of killing pit bulls at the pound, they will allow them to go to approved rescue groups. That makes my heart very happy.
If you're interested in adopting Pittunia, she's available through Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary. If you live in Springfield, Missouri please help us do away with BSL legislation and protect sweet pups like Pittunia.
In other Fursday news, Good Dogs & Co. has an interview with me about my Fursday project. If you've ever wondered how this all got started, then this is the spot for all the details.
UPDATE: Pittunia is still looking for her forever home. This painting is also available. All proceeds go to Haven of the Ozarks.
