2/52 | portrait project

Week 2 of the 52 portrait project created by Jodi at Practising Simplicity: The idea is simple: a portrait of each child, once a week, every week, in 2014.

Sunday, we hiked in a favorite spot. It was a warm, beautiful day and we wore ourselves out. The kids couldn't resist playing with the last chunks of ice leftover in puddles. Eli picked up the largest piece, holding it up to the sun, examining the bubbles, ridges, and jagged edges until his hands were so cold they couldn't hold it anymore.

This photo is SO Clara. Her artwork hangs all over our house, usually several pieces stacked from each clip. She is wearing her "LETS GET CRAZY" shirt that Santa brought her. She has just gotten home from preschool and is explaining all the gymnastics moves she learned. And then that look of ornery. She's looking away from the camera as she talks, testing my limits as usual.
