8/52 + 9/52 | portrait project

Week 9 of the 52 portrait project created by Jodi at Practising Simplicity. The idea is simple: one portrait of each child, once a week, every week, in 2014.

Sometimes life gets in the way of your projects. That's happened here but rather than get my panties all in a bunch about it, I thought I'd just post two portraits this week and call it good.

Apparently while I was out of town, things got a little crazy because hubby taught the kids to meditate at bedtime. One kid gets it; the other does not.

A few days after the ice and snow storm, we were back outside and it's looking like spring might actually arrive soon.  This looks very posed but is really a typical move he makes while playing superheroes. The only thing unusual about it is that he looked at the camera. Caught ya, little dude!

This was my first morning back home after a trip. I missed my little breakfast buddy!

I don't even recognize her in this photo. It looks like she's wearing eyeliner and where did that beauty mark come from all of a sudden? Oh wait, that's jelly on her face from breakfast.
