I'm back with books 23 and 24! I'm determined to get caught up so I can meet my goal of 50 books this year. I heard about The End of Your Life book club from my friend Karen. It was a good read with lots of little takeaways. And for whatever reason, I love books that make me cry. Then I read In the Pursuit of Happiness. I don't even know how to describe this book other than awesome. I love Maira Kalman. Her illustrations are loose and expressive with amazing color. And her writing is quirky and thought provoking. Her handwriting is amazing too. I read this in one sitting but enjoyed flipping through it for days. It's too bad it's a library book and I must return it soon. :(
Stacked beside my bed are several books to hopefully help with my year of creative habits project. I've read Anne Lamott's Bird by Bird before but it's been awhile and I feel like rereading it. Living and Sustaining a Creative Life was recommended by my friend Amanda. Imagine was recommended by my husband Thad.
