After the heart anatomy painting a neighbor friend/designer contacted me about doing a foot anatomy series for a client of hers who is a foot doctor. I had so much fun painting the heart so that seemed like a fun follow-up. She requested three small pieces and also gave me the color scheme for her interior design. Sometimes having all these decision made already (size, color, subject) can feel stifling but in this case I really enjoyed it. No real thinking was required and it was just so easy to get started.
I painted these two and then passed them on to her so that they could be installed along with the majority of the other decor going in. Then the following week, I painted the third and it will be added in soon. These are 3 6x8 inch cradled panels, 1.5 inches deep. I left a little strip of the bare wood showing as border. We talked about adding in arrows and labeling the parts but in the end decided against it.
Recently she let me know that they’ll be hung vertically on a narrow wall. I’m excited to see them in the finished space (her work is stellar!) but in the meantime I put them together digitally.
