Whew! I really shouldn’t have waited so long to post! I didn’t think I had many photos until I started going back through them. I guess this is summer part 2.
Our bedroom is just big enough for our bed. That’s it. No side tables, no other furniture. And yet I kinda love it. It’s very cozy. And Hank definitely helps with the coziness.
A rare summer coffee at Cherry Picker. I haven’t been over there as much lately but I’m sure I’ll get back to it.
Ya can’t do summer without doing sprinklers once, right? I think they thought they were too big for the sprinkler but they ended up having fun, even if it only lasted like 20 minutes.
Summer fruits & veggies from our farm box. Those berries didn’t last but a couple days around here!
We did a staycation this year and it turned out to be really low key and fun. The butterfly mural is from our day at the zoo. We went mini golfing and go kart riding and saw a movie and of course went to the lake.
We caught a baseball game and went to White Water. We even bought a new vehicle on vacation. I guess that’s easier to do when it’s a stay-cation.
The kids are always down for the neighborhood Fourth of July parade…
followed by a little reading on the porch.
We’re not big fireworks people. We usually get just a few little things.
Thad picked up these string firecrackers. It was more fun watching the kids TRY to get the strings to work.
And then of course sparklers are my favorite. We usually end up doing Harry Potter spells with them or conducting music. :)
We dropped this kid off at a camp for almost 2 weeks! And it feels like he grew 2 years in that time.
She REALLY missed him while he was gone. We all did but she was super bored without him. :)
We’ve got a new Saturday morning routine of getting wood-fired pizza and fresh strawberry lemonade at the farmer’s market.
That breakfast pizza with a farm fresh egg, fresh basil, and goat cheese… SO good.
I love when the fruit still has leaves on it. <3
This new little taco joint opened up, like right behind our house. Oh boy.
I think we missed going to the fair last year. It’s always around Clara’s birthday and so she usually wants to go. People can have such negative things to say about teenagers and preteens but I think right now this is the THE best age. They are so much fun!
And then she turned 10!
This waterslide party has been her thing for the last several years. I always think this will the last year for it and then she always wants to do it again. So we’ll see. It is really fun.
And now it’s back-to-school time. We did check ups at the doctor….
new glasses, new clothes, school supplies, and haircuts!
Then it was one last hurrah. The last thing on her summer list was to go rock climbing. They both really surprised me with this one.
Yesterday was the first day of school: 8th and 4th grade.
Ready for a great school year!
