Ok, I'm getting real here this morning. I've got a case of the Mondays today. My kids' schedule is very different on Mondays so that throws off my whole morning routine. My "oh well" attitude about it isn't helping. It's time to come up with a plan B for Mondays (or any other day that we need to start an hour earlier) so I can keep with my routine. That goes on my list of improvements for February.
So this morning I'm revisiting a happier day this month. We went on an artist date to our local art museum.
This was only my second time visiting!! What?! I know, what was I thinking? I had been meaning to go for months to see the Julie Blackmon exhibit. That exhibit ended on January 19 so I had a deadline. Apparently I need deadlines in my life or I'm just a lazy recluse.
Her work was incredible. I knew it would be, yet I was still blown away....the way she makes a photograph look like a painting....the size of the photographs....the simple, yet complex subjects.....her views as both artist and mother...all of it. Photography without flash is allowed but my phone photos of her beautiful artwork just wouldn't do it justice. So here's a few of my favorites: Stock Tank, Garage Sale, and Patio.
