So If you missed it a week or so ago, I took a little break from my sketchbook and realized that a) I didn't want to stop and b) I wanted to go bigger! So this week I continued drawing on this 9x12 pad of paper until my new, larger sketchbook arrived.
For some reason I'm just really into drawing with a blue colored pencil. This paper is "marker paper" and is super smooth. The prismacolor colored pencil glides on and I've convinced myself that this blue one is the smoothest. Also I just really like stubby pencils.
Finally the sketchbook arrived! Here's a look at it with two pocket sized Moleksines on top.
And then this is me cracking it open for the first time and writing my name in it. I think the video shows just how BIG this thing is!
You know the scariness of the first mark and the first page in a brand new sketchbook, right?! It was that times 10!
I made myself start immediately and I tried to look at it as an experiment. It was time to find out what pens and pencils work best in this new sketchbook...
and of course I decided on colored pencils!
although the brush pen was nice too. I'm wondering how it looks on the back of the paper. I guess I'll find out tomorrow!
