On Monday I posted an update to my fifty reads goal. It had been about three weeks since I'd finished a book and I was starting to feel like I wasn't going to make my goal. And so I thought I'd post about my progress. I've noticed that always seems to help with whatever I'm working on. First I have to take the time to notice the progress to put it into a post. That's helpful I think, just to see how far I've come. Then I put it out there to the world... "hey I'm working on this!" I've used posting here as a way to help me stay accountable this year. I don't post for comments or shares or likes. I post because I know that when I tell someone I'm going to do something, I'm much more likely to actually do it. And now two days later, I've finished two books!
Hooray! Three books left! I can do this. I'm still reading Quiet on my phone. I'd say I'm about a third of the way through it. I'm in no big hurry to finish that one, as it's just convenient to have a book ready for me to read on my phone. We went to the library today and I picked up several new books. A couple of them, I'll read with my son (I bet you can guess which ones!), the cookbook I'll likely just browse, and I doubt that I get to The Confidence Code until the new year. So we'll see what I end up reading for these last three books but with two weeks left, it feels doable now.
