Today's sketch comes from a hospital waiting room and may not look like it but shows lots of progress. For one, the room was filled with at least a dozen people. Before IF I even attempted to draw in public, I'd hide it. Today it wasn't exactly with confidence but I did draw out in the open. I'm pretty sure this guy knew I was staring at/drawing him. He sat there pleasantly reading and made a great model. At home, I usually draw at the table but today my lap was the only option. It's surprisingly more challenging than I thought. And then last, even though it's a quick gesture sketch, I think it does look a bit like him. So I'm pretty happy about that. Also while I wait, I'm reading Daily Paining by Carol Marine. Check out her blog if you aren't familiar with her work. She has some fantastic advice in the book about creative habits, not just painting.
Hopefully I'll be home tomorrow to draw at my table and have a proper breakfast!
