Mission accomplished! My goal this year was to read fifty books. Almost one per week with a little leeway seemed doable for me. It ended up pushing me a little more than I expected but not so much that I ever felt like I wasn't going to make it. I think it's the perfect number to read in a year and I'll definitely do it again in 2015. Here's the last two books for this year.
And here's a handy dandy list of all the books I read this year. I organized them into the basic categories and I put my two favorites in each category at the top. The rest are in random order but I'd recommend almost every single book I read this year. For the most part, if I didn't like a book then I didn't finish it. The only exceptions to that were a few that were recommended to me by friends that I kept thinking would get better.
Keeping track of the books I read this year has been a fantastic learning experience. I never would have guessed that I'd read so much non-fiction and memoirs. And I didn't realize just how much I love memoirs, that has to be my favorite genre. I'm excited to start a new list in 2015.
