In April I read 6 books for a total of 26 in 2018 so far. Anne of Green Gables was the perfect spring read. I loved the colors in this graphic novel, beautifully illustrated!
Next up, I read Notorious RBG. This is a book that people always ask me if I've read when they see my painting. The painting sold this month so I thought I'd celebrate by reading it.
I learned a lot! I was really impressed with the way the book mixes memes and fun stuff with a well-researched biography. It was a really good read. I teared up reading Marty’s last letter to RBG and loved all the old photos.
A Glorious Freedom was our year of creative habits book club book for March/April. I LOVED this book. It is so easy to pick up and put down and yet be engaged and inspired every single time. It might be my favorite book that we’ve read in a year and a half of book club.
I used to be a big Anna Quindlen fan. One True Thing was one of my favorite books. (and I even loved the movie!) I'm still a fan but I was little disappointed with Alternate Side. It has that same sad/realistic story line but it didn't feel as meaningful.
I saw an article with this title and knew I had to read the book. I read The Neurologist Who Lost Her Mind in two days. This kind of stuff fascinates me!
And last I read Mari Andrew's new book Am I There Yet? There's several references to Frida Kahlo that I thought were fun. I enjoyed the part about seasons of life and all of the traveling stories. This book is obviously aimed at a younger audience but parts of it were still really relevant to me at age 42.
