This Fursday meet Toby Johnson. He's an Italian greyhound, about 9 years old and he's just under 12 pounds. Doesn't he look like the cutest little kangaroo?
I don't know much about Toby except that his mama passed away and that's how he ended up at Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary. Often I post about the dogs that have a really sad story. It's sad that Toby's mom is gone but he likely had a really good life with her.
That's one of the fun parts about adopting a senior dog. Besides that he's already house trained and looks so very wise, you get to discover his story. Has he been to the beach before? Does he like to fetch sticks? Maybe watch birds? Or chase squirrels? If you had some treats in your hand, would he do some tricks? Does he like to nap in your lap? When he sleeps, does he stretch out long or curl up tight?
What a fun adventure to learn each other's stories and then begin your own story together. Head on over to the Haven of the Ozarks and help Toby start a new chapter with his new mama or papa.
UPDATE: Toby was adopted! :)
