Wow. Six months are done. Halfway. This year I haven't been as diligent with looking back, reflecting, evaluating, and setting goals for the new month(s). Mostly it's been about just keeping up and keeping on. Today I took a few minutes to look back through my photos and choose a few of my favorites. I didn't overthink it. I took literally minutes to choose nine and put them together in a grid. These are nine favorites, not my top nine, not nine in any particular order, just nine that I like.
This is a great little exercise. Choose some favorites and then ask yourself some questions. I'm thinking about...
What do they have in common?
How are they different?
How can I build on this/make more favorites?
Use those answers to set goals and move forward. I'm also thinking about...
What new projects would be fun to start?
What projects have I already committed to? (and putting those on the calendar along with breaking them down into more manageable pieces)
What will make this project a success in my eyes?
Recently I noticed that I kinda like the number 50. I'm painting 50 rescue dogs this year. I'm reading 50 books. In what other ways could I use the number 50? Sell 50 paintings? Get 50 rejections? Make $50,000? ha! But you get the idea! It's the last day of June and we're about halfway there, what do you plan to accomplish during the second half of a year of creative habits?
