[Today's post is a whole lot of random.]
First you probably noticed that it looks a little different here. I'm making some changes and so my blog will be "in process" for a little while. My goal is to make the front page more informative about what I do, which will result in slight changes on my other pages. I'm not sure how it will look just yet and I'm the kind of person that has to play around with it to figure that out. So there will probably be lots of little changes throughout the week and then hopefully I'll have something I'm relatively happy with by the weekend. In other words...please forgive the mess while I remodel. :)
Second--a #drawingAugust update. I'm going to go ahead and say this: I hate these! And more than that, I hate posting drawings that I hate. But I'm doing it anyway. Sharing is part of the process and maybe it'll motivate me to work harder/smarter and make changes that help me figure out what I like.
My intention for #drawingAugust was to draw from life. My paintings this year have been from photos or my mind and so I feel like I've lost some of those skills that allow you to change the 3D to 2D. I wanted to work on regaining some of those skills. I am working on it. I don't always have to like it but I do have to keep working on it if I want to get better.
And then the last thing, I listened to this podcast (Raise your hand say yes with Lisa Congdon on passion projects) this morning and I thought it was really great. I'm not a huge podcast person but every so often I'll hear about one that really interests me and so I'll listen. I have followed both Tiffany Han and Lisa Congdon for awhile now and I got to meet them both back in January. Love them both and I was super interested in hearing what they had to say about passion projects. It definitely picked me up a bit and has me thinking about my next passion project.
