It's soccer season which means lots of sitting and standing around in the grass watching kids run around.
It was a SUPER busy week with a big deadline and a big event over the weekend. It all got done and then I felt like why can't that be normal? Why can't I get this much stuff done in a normal week? Am I just lazy? Seriously though--without I deadlines I don't finish anything.
I got to volunteer at the school this week. For Eli's class I helped out with their anatomy and disease unit. A doctor brought in cow, pig, and sheep organs for the students to examine. I was in charge of the livers. I'll spare you the photo. It was disgusting, stinky and seriously cool all at the same time. I also got to help out with a painting activity in Clara's class. That's SO much more my speed.
This weekend I was a part of the Ozarks Mini Maker Faire. I am SO proud of myself for painting in public. It actually went really well. I'm terrified to draw in public but I kinda enjoyed painting. It kept me busy when my booth was empty and it started conversations with people. This time I put out my sketchbooks from last year and let people flip through them. It was a little like baring my soul to strangers but I think it was good.
I thought that I'd be ready to rest and just chill out this week but after getting so much done last week and with the start of a new month, I'm feeling enthused and inspired. Talking to people at the Maker Faire gave me so many new ideas and I'm just so motivated to keep painting. [fist bump Makers!]
And I'm back with some minimal memory keeping this week. Do you guys use the timehop app? I love that app! So this week I saved a couple photos that came up in my timehops and paired them with a similar recent photo.
This first one is a five year span from playing school to being in school.
And this one is a four year span from the day we got Hank to today.
Whew...what a week! And what a difference a few years makes!
