Whew! I'm feeling a little behind on my reading lately. I started several books and then after 50 pages of one and 100 of another, I quit them. I'm getting better about that. I'm not sure why I always felt the need to finish a book before, especially ones that I'm not into. But now I know...girl ain't got time for that!
These are two that I did finish. The Affinities is a science fiction book that reminded me a little of The Circle but still very much it's own. I'm not a big science fiction fan but it intrigued me and I enjoyed it.
I'd seen Swimming Studies on Lisa Congdon's Instagram feed probably last year at least. Since I've never been into competitive swimming, I wasn't sure I'd be into it but I totally was. I learned so much about that world and I really enjoyed her kind of quirky writing style along with her art.
I also read book 2 in my husband's series Stephenson Spencer Junior Inventor. I get to be an advance reader for those so it's not out yet. We're in the planning stages for the cover and I'm just so excited to work on that and for him to get this next one published. If you're a little nerdy or your kids are, it's a really fun series. Book 1 was fantastic and book 2 is even more fast-paced and intense that you'll probably want to read it in one sitting.
Now I'm ready for a new stack of books. Here's the ones I reserved today:
Got any book recommendations for me?
