Sometimes this creative habit stuff can feel like too much. Maybe you're interested but you're a little hesitant about starting. Where do you start? What do you do? Well baby steps, people, baby steps. Here's some baby steps for getting into your creative habit:
- use a pattern for sewing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, etc.
- try magnetic poetry or black out poems for writing
- paint by number
- take a class, let the teacher give you assignments
- copy someone (its ok, just give credit and don't try to sell it or pass it off as your own)
Take some creative baby steps and build your confidence. Just by using the materials, you'll build your skills without the stress of having your own idea. It'll feel good to be doing something. It'll feel even better finishing something. Then you'll have some momentum. If you haven't started or you're feeling stuck, take a baby step today. If you have ideas for more creative baby steps, leave them in the comments. You could help someone! (and that feels good too.)
