SUN! It’s SO good to see you! I’ve been singing a song that Clara used to sing in preschool… “Sun! Sun! Mr. Golden Sun… please shine down on me!” Of course she is horrified to hear me singing this but I like it. I like the sun and I like the memories of her singing it.
This seemed like an awkward way to play guitar but what do I know?!
She takes keyboard lessons but more often than not it’s him at the keyboard. Of course he’s not interested in lessons.
He was headed to a school dance and I thought he looked especially handsome in the sunset light. He was ready a few minutes early so he was working on his debate cards. She’s in the background playing with slime. Oh slime. :|
Hank and I enjoying some morning sun.
I took a couple of process shots just to remember how I’m doing things right now. I’ve set up this standing workspace. Coffee in the Yeti. Classical music. Plate palette. Cheap brushes. Trying to work on multiple paintings at once because that’s what I feel I’m supposed to do but remembering that doesn’t usually work for me.
It’s patio weather again and that makes me very happy. :)
We had a pretty uneventful spring break. He got braces. We tried to stay off screens except for movies together. We watched Caption Marvel, Mary Poppins Returns (again), and Ant Man. We read and slept a lot.
Spring also means wood-fired pizza from Firelight. This pizza is my favorite! This day I ordered the breakfast pizza (egg, feta, fresh basil) and couldn’t wait til we got home to eat it.
This photo makes me smile. This day I slept in and came downstairs to see him sitting there on the couch exactly like I do: feet propped up on a pillow, reading, Hank beside him. It’s like a not-so-mini-anymore me.
Sunset out my studio window. Finally I can paint after 5:00 again, thank you daylight savings time!
