Summer is in full swing around here. We went on our first camping trip. We took bikes and the kids rode around the campground. It was so amazing to just sit down and watch them do their thing on their own. Older kids are rad!
We kayaked and swam and fished but I didn’t take my camera over to the water. I did get these shots of the kids’ books in their camp chairs. <3
Back at home we’ve been doing 5 to 10 mile bike rides on the weekends. Again, older kids are rad!
Thad and I have been sneaking off to do some fishing on our own. At our closest/easiest place we just catch these little ones but it’s still fun.
I’ve got a fly rod and usually catch sunfish on poppers. He uses a spinning rod and goes for bass. The weird blur on the photo above is because my phone is in a waterproof case.
We are back to weekly swim lessons, at least for her. He watches or swims in the deep end while she gets her lesson.
Spencer (the dog) had surgery to remove a growth between his toes. Here he is all happy post-anesthesia… he was much less thrilled with us once it wore off.
And some scenes from summer…. strawberries, BLT’s, late dinners, naps in the sun. Everything feels a bit slower.
