It was a busy, not at all ordinary week. Wednesday we last minute decided to go to Silver Dollar City with Grandma. The kids are pretty much only interested in the water rides and are usually ready to go home by 2.
Then Friday we decided to go ahead with our camping trip. We were a little unsure as our usual camping spot on the Current River was taken out in the flooding in late April. We've been going to that spot for about 15 years and we love it. So we were all pretty bummed and not sure where to go that would even compare (at least to us!) We made our best guess on a new spot and we got very lucky.
This is our traditional camping photo...I have years and years of photos of us in front of Ol' Yeller. Usually we take this shot in our driveway just before leaving but this year we waited til we got there.
This year the kids learned to skip rocks and we spent a lot of time looking for the "perfect" skipping rock. Also spent a lot of time reading in hammocks. It's so awesome when kids learn (and love) to read.
Kids outfished us this year. Eli caught the most fish and Clara caught the biggest.
Sunsets and sneaky pictures...and total concentration while catching minnows.
This trip we spent more time in tubes than kayaks.
Great trip and was really not ready to come home. :( It felt really good to be off the grid for awhile. We're looking forward to another trip in a couple weeks.
