I'm surprising myself with how many books I've read this year! I guess it's habit? I've gotten into the routine of reading #deadartistsociety books + nonfiction during the day and fiction + graphic novels at night. It seems to work well for me so I'll keep with it. In March I read:
14 The Mothers by Brit Bennett
15 Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher
16 Birds Art Life by Kyo Maclear
17 Craft a Life You Love by Amy Tangerine
18 All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood
19 March Book 2 by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, Nate Powell
20 A Biography of Georgia O'Keeffe by Laurie Lisle
21 Adulthood is a Myth by Sarah Andersen
22 Fowl Language: Welcome to Parenting by Brian Gordon
Fiction this month, I read The Mothers and All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. All the Ugly was really good but it's like a train wreck. It's awful and you don't wanna watch/read but you can't NOT! The characters are all so flawed and it's hard to truly connect with any of them but then on the other hand, it's easy. I don't know if that makes sense. It's a really different book.
I read two memoirs Birds Art Life and Wishful Drinking. Both very good. Wishful Drinking is very funny, light book to read. Birds Art Life made me start noticing birds and was really interesting. It's not just a bird watching book.
Craft a Life You Love was our year of creative habits book club selection. And of course I read a Biography of Georgia O'Keeffe for my #deadartistsproject.
I read three graphic novels this month. The March series by John Lewis is fantastic. I can't wait to get my hands on book 3. I read Adulthood is a Myth and Fowl Language while on the plane, one each way. They were perfect reading for that situation.
I can't believe I'm almost halfway to my goal of fifty books! Maybe it'll slow down as the weather gets warmer and we spend more time outside. We shall see....
