For the past 40 weeks I've been participating in the 52 project alongside Jodi at Practising Simplicity. This is another great example of how doing a little at a time can add up to something really cool. The idea is simple: one portrait of each child, every week, in 2014.
I am already so pleased with the results. When I need a decent photo of the kids for a project, a grandparent, or school, I have one! And at the end of the year, I'll have an amazing set of photos that document their interests and growth. Today I pulled together nine of my past favorites for each kiddo. It was SO hard to narrow it down.
Most of these were taken with a Canon Rebel and 50mm lens. A few weeks ago I decided to sell that 'big' camera and I'm now using the iPhone6 camera. I hope/plan to buy a new (not as big) camera but I know that might not happen until next year. For now, I'm really happy with the quality of the camera on the iPhone6. So here's week 40:
If you'd like to check out the rest of my year, they are all posted here. If you'd like to join the project, it's not too late! Also how cool would it be to tweak this project to suit you? Take a weekly portrait of your dog, your spouse, or even a selfie. If you started this week, you'd have 12 portraits by the end of the year and that I think would be pretty cool!
